Is this another trial?

Is this another test?

Thou hast given me but little

And kept all the rest.

That little I secure O’ God

Thou givest the best.

Yet though the spring is here,

And everything is bright,

The trees seem so bare

A day seems a night.

The darkness is but worldly,

Just teary are the eyes

My soul is not earthly,

My spirit to Thee flies

All love, all love, O’ God,

There never can be hate,

If this be another trial,

Unshaken is my faith.
