Those believers succeeded who humble themselves in the prayer, who avoid absurdities, who pay zakah, who guard their private parts – except from their wives and slave-girls [in the interim period when slavery was allowed], for they are not blameworthy in their regard; yet those who went after others besides them, then they are the ones who exceed the limits – who are true to their trusts, who keep their promises, who are diligent in their prayer. These are the heirs who will inherit Paradise; they shall abide in it forever. (23:1-11))
Abu Hurayrah (rta) stated that God’s Messenger (sws) said: “Indeed, God does not look at your appearance and wealth; He, in fact, looks at your hearts and your deeds.”[1]
For every man who gives himself a high place will be put down, but he who takes a low place will be lifted up. (Luke, 14:11)
