Those who follow the Messenger – the Unlettered Prophet – whom they find described to them in the Torah and the Gospel. He enjoins virtue upon them and forbids them to do vice. He makes good things lawful to them and prohibits what is foul. He relieves them of their burdens and shackles that weigh upon them. So, those who profess faith in him, honour him, support him and follow the light sent down with him shall surely succeed. (7:157)

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (rta) stated that God’s Messenger (sws) said: “He who does [good] deeds to have them publicized, God will publicize his humiliation [on the Day of Judgement]. And he who shows off, God will make an example of him.”[1]
