وَ عِبَادُ  الرَّحۡمٰنِ الَّذِیۡنَ  یَمۡشُوۡنَ عَلَی الۡاَرۡضِ ہَوۡنًا وَّ اِذَا خَاطَبَہُمُ الۡجٰہِلُوۡنَ  قَالُوۡا سَلٰمًا  وَ الَّذِیۡنَ یَبِیۡتُوۡنَ لِرَبِّہِمۡ سُجَّدًا وَّ قِیَامًا وَ الَّذِیۡنَ یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ رَبَّنَا اصۡرِفۡ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَہَنَّمَ  اِنَّ عَذَابَہَا کَانَ غَرَامًا.(25:63-65)

ہُمُ:   to them

قَالُوۡا:   they say

سَلٰمًا: peace

 

وَ	اِذَا	خَاطَبَ	ہُمُ	الۡجٰہِلُوۡنَ	قَالُوۡا	سَلٰمًا

 

 

III

 

وَ:  and

الَّذِیۡنَ:  who

یَبِیۡتُوۡنَ:  spend nights

لِ: before

رَبِّ: Lord

ہِمۡ:  their

سُجَّدًا:  prostrating

وَ:  and

قِیَامًا: standing

 

وَ	الَّذِیۡنَ	یَبِیۡتُوۡنَ	لِ	رَبِّ	ہِمۡ	سُجَّدًا	وَّ	قِیَامًا

 

 

IV

 

وَ: and

الَّذِیۡنَ: who

یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ:  keep praying

رَبَّنَا:  our Lord

اصۡرِفۡ:  protect

عَنَّا:  us

عَذَابَ:  from the punishment

جَہَنَّمَ: of Hell

 

وَ	الَّذِیۡنَ	یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ	رَبَّنَا	اصۡرِفۡ	عَنَّا	عَذَابَ	جَہَنَّمَ

 

 

V

 

اِنَّ:   indeed

عَذَابَ:   punishment

ہَا:   its

کَانَ:   is

غَرَامًا:  ever-clinging

 

اِنَّ	عَذَابَ	ہَا	کَانَ	غَرَامًا

And the servants of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth. And when people overcome by emotions talk to them, they say: “Peace.” And who spend their nights before their Lord prostrating and standing. And who keep praying: “Our Lord! Protect us from the punishment of Hell.” Indeed its punishment is ever-clinging. (25:63-65)

2. When you realize that you have been very rude to someone, you:

ii. apologize  as soon as you realize it.

iii. never say anything.

i. you wait for the servant to say salam.

ii. you take the initiative in saying salam.

iii. you do not even reply to your servant who says salam to you.

Write a “Humility-Arrogance” diary for two weeks. Each day write down any act of humility or arrogance you committed. At the end of two weeks, share this with your closest friend or with your instructor or just destroy it.

Make a commitment to yourself that in future you will be as humble as possible.
