یٰۤاَیُّہَا  الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا یَسۡخَرۡ قَوۡمٌ مِّنۡ قَوۡمٍ عَسٰۤی اَنۡ یَّکُوۡنُوۡا خَیۡرًا مِّنۡہُمۡ وَ لَا نِسَآءٌ  مِّنۡ  نِّسَآءٍ  عَسٰۤی اَنۡ یَّکُنَّ خَیۡرًا مِّنۡہُنَّ ۚ وَ لَا تَلۡمِزُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَکُمۡ وَ لَا تَنَابَزُوۡا بِالۡاَلۡقَابِ ؕ بِئۡسَ الِاسۡمُ الۡفُسُوۡقُ بَعۡدَ الۡاِیۡمَانِ ۚ وَ مَنۡ لَّمۡ یَتُبۡ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ (11) …وَ لَا یَغۡتَبۡ بَّعۡضُکُمۡ بَعۡضًا ؕ اَیُحِبُّ  اَحَدُکُمۡ  اَنۡ یَّاۡکُلَ  لَحۡمَ اَخِیۡہِ  مَیۡتًا فَکَرِہۡتُمُوۡہُ ؕ  وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ ؕ اِنَّ  اللّٰہَ  تَوَّابٌ  رَّحِیۡمٌ.(49: 11-12)

عَسٰۤی:   it is possible

خَیۡرًا:   are better

مِّنۡہُمۡ: than them

 

یٰۤاَیُّہَا

الَّذِیۡنَ

اٰمَنُوۡا

لَا

یَسۡخَرۡ

قَوۡمٌ

مِّنۡ

قَوۡمٍ

عَسٰۤی

اَنۡ

یَّکُوۡنُوۡا

خَیۡرًا

مِّنۡہُمۡ

 

 

II

 

وَ:    and

لَا:    not

نِسَآءٌ:     women

مِّنۡ:     of

نِّسَآءٍ: other women

عَسٰۤی:    it is possible

اَنۡ:    that

یَّکُنَّ:    they be

خَیۡرًا:    better

مِّنۡہُنَّ: than them

 

وَ	لَا	نِسَآءٌ	مِّنۡ	نِّسَآءٍ	عَسٰۤی	اَنۡ	یَّکُنَّ	خَیۡرًا	مِّنۡہُنَّ

 

 

III

 

وَ:    and

لَا:    do not

تَلۡمِزُوۡۤا:    defame

اَنۡفُسَکُمۡ:  one another

وَ:    and

لَا:    not

تَنَابَزُوۡا: call one another

بِالۡاَلۡقَابِ:    bad names

بِئۡسَ:    evil

الِاسۡمُ:    the name

الۡفُسُوۡقُ:    of defiance

بَعۡدَ:    after

الۡاِیۡمَانِ: faith

 

وَ

لَا

تَلۡمِزُوۡۤا

اَنۡفُسَکُمۡ

وَ

لَا

تَنَابَزُوۡا

بِالۡاَلۡقَابِ

بِئۡسَ

الِاسۡمُ

الۡفُسُوۡقُ

بَعۡدَ

الۡاِیۡمَانِ

 

 

IV

 

وَ:   and

مَنۡ:    those who

لَّمۡ:    do not

یَتُبۡ:    repent

فَاُولٰٓئِکَ:    they are the ones

ہُمُ:    they

الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ: unjust

 

وَ	مَنۡ	لَّمۡ	یَتُبۡ	فَ	اُولٰٓئِکَ	ہُمُ	الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ

 

 

V

 

وَ:    and

لَا:    not

یَغۡتَبۡ:   backbite

بَّعۡضُکُمۡ:   one of you

بَعۡضًا:   to others

اَیُحِبُّ:     would like

اَحَدُکُمۡ:     any of you

اَنۡ:   that

یَّاۡکُلَ:   he eats

لَحۡمَ:    the flesh

اَخِیۡہِ:     of his brother

مَیۡتًا:    dead

فَکَرِہۡتُمُوۡہُ:  so you regarded it to be detestable

 

وَ

لَا

یَغۡتَبۡ

بَّعۡضُکُمۡ

بَعۡضًا

اَیُحِبُّ

اَحَدُکُمۡ

اَنۡ

یَّاۡکُلَ

لَحۡمَ

اَخِیۡہِ

مَیۡتًا

فَکَرِہۡتُمُوۡہُ

 

 

VI

 

 وَ:    and

اتَّقُوا:    fear

اللّٰہَ: God

اِنَّ:     indeed

اللّٰہَ:     God

تَوَّابٌ:    Ever-Forgiving

رَّحِیۡمٌ: Ever-Merciful

 

وَ	اتَّقُوا	اللّٰہَ	اِنَّ	اللّٰہَ	تَوَّابٌ	رَّحِیۡمٌ

O those who have professed faith, a group of men should not make fun of another group of men; it is possible that they are better than them. And women should not make fun of other women; it is possible that they are better than them. And do not defame one another; after faith, even the name of defiance is evil. And those who do not repent, they are the ones who are unjust. And do not back bite one another; would any of you like that he eats the flesh of his dead brother; so you regarded it to be detestable. And fear God. Indeed, God is Ever-Forgiving and Ever-Merciful. (49:11-12)
