Lectured in various colleges on Islamic issues.
2000-2001—Instructor in Arabic language for higher secondary classes at Defence Public School, Lahore.
1994-99—Instructor in Urdu and Islamic tradition for primary classes at Mus‘ab Public School, Lahore.
1988—Have been delivering weekly lectures on the Qur’ān (private)

Mr Ammar Khan Nasir was born in December 1975 to a renowned religious and scholarly family in the town of Gakhar Gujranwala, Pakistan. His grandfather Mawlana Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan Safdar is considered the academic voice of the Deobandi School in the country.

Mr Ammar Khan Nasir was born in December 1975 to a renowned religious and scholarly family in the town of Gakhar Gujranwala, Pakistan. His grandfather Mawlana Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan Safdar is considered the academic voice of the Deobandi School in the country. His father, Mawlana Zahid al-Rashidi, is a famous religious scholar known for his sound and balanced religious approach.

Mr Ammar Khan Nasir obtained his elementary religious education in Madrasa Anwar al-Uloom Gujranwala. He obtained Shahada Alamiyyah from Madrasa Nusrat al-Uloom Gujranwala in 1994. Then he started pursuing conventional studies and obtained Masters Degree in English Literature from the University of the Punjab in 2001. He has worked as Assistant Editor of the Monthly Al-Shari’ah published from Gujranwala from 1989 to 2000. Since then he has been serving as the Editor of the journal. He taught the Dars-e Nizami course at Nusrat al-Uloom from 1996 to 2006. He joined GIFT University Gujranwala in 2006 where he teaches Arabic and Islamic Studies to graduate and MPhil classes.

Mr Ammar Khan Nasir has many academic works to his credit. His first work, “Imam Abū Hanifa and Amal bil Hadith” (Imam Abū Hanifa and Adherence of Hadith) appeared in print in 1996. In 2007 he academically reviewed the recommendations of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Government of Pakistan, regarding Islamic Punishments. His research on the issue was later compiled and published by Al-Mawrid, a Foundation for Islamic Research and Education, Lahore entitled “Hudood-o Ta’zeeraat, Chand Aham Mabahis” (Discussions on Islamic Penal Code). His other research works include Masjid Aqsa ki Tarikh awr Haq-e Tawalliyat (History of the Sacred Mosque in Jerusalem and the Question of its Guardianship) and Jihad. His research articles on variety of religious issues continue appearing in the Monthly Ishraq Lahore, Monthly Al-Shari’ah, Gujranwala and Monthly Nusrat al-Uloom Gujranwala.

Mr Ammar Khan Nasir was introduced to Javed Ahmad Ghamidi in 1990. Since then he has been under his informal tutelage. In 2003 he joined al-Mawrid. He plans to work on and study and do research on the Farahi School from different academic angles.
