What are the main features of Sufi interpretation of the Quran?
May I have the pleasure of briefly contributing to the above topic and observe that:—
1) Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an ( and this includes Sufi Interpretations) is an unending process, which
will be different for each individual.
2) Sufi Interpretations are more suggestive than declarative; they are allusions (Isharat) rather than
Sufi Interpretations, therefore, indicate so many possibilities and insights.
I suggest you find and examine Kristin Zahra Sands work titled “SUFI COMMENTARIES ON THE QUR’AN IN CLASSICAL ISLAM”, published by University of Victoria, Canada’s Routledge Studies In The Qur’an, for more details on this matter.
